- Some instruments use a different clef in concert pitch score layouts to the one used in transposed pitch instrument part layouts.
- If you need to change clef in one layout, you can choose whether in shows in other layouts.
- Open the properties panel and, with the clef selected, enable the Show for transposition property and choose Concert Pitch or Transposed Pitch.
I’d like to have a alto clef in a viola part layout but a bass clef in the score.
But whatever i do, it doesn’t occur.
@Addy: You should be able to do that by selecting the full score layout in the Layouts list in Setup mode, right-clicking and choosing Clef and Transposition Override from the menu that appears. In the dialog, select the Viola instrument from the list at the top, and set the bass clef as an override. That should do it! More information about that tool here.
